Diagnosis

Planta fruticosa epiphytica; pendens usque ad 100 cm longa; caules crenati, plani, usque ad 12 cm longi et 6 cm lati. Areolae parvulae inermes, non cavernosae. Flores solitarii albidi, ca. 10 mm lati et 8 mm longi. Perianthium radians; ca. 7 tepala alba. Stamina ca. 50, albida. Pollinis grana globosa, ca. 50 μm diametro, 6-colpata. Stylus rectus ad 7 mm longus, Stigma 4-lobata. Pericarplum albldum nudumque. Fructus bacca albida nudaque ca. 7,5 mm longa et 6,5 mm lata. Semen nigrescens oblongatum, ad 1,3 mm longum et 0,5 mm latum.

Holotypus: Rauh et Barthlott No. 35392 (Peruvia prope Rioja, 800 m altitudo, 1973) in herbario inst. syst. bot. Heidelbergensi (HEID) conservatur; isotypi in herbarlo inst. bot. Bonnensi (BONN) et inst. Huntington (HNT).
