Notes

Echinocereus chloranthus was suggested to comprise the two subspecies: E. chloranthus subsp. chloranthus and E. chloranthus subsp. rhyolitensis (Blum & al. 2012). However, morphological variation and geographical distribution are continuos, therefore E. chloranthus subsp. rhyolitensis is synonymized with E. chloranthus here.A
