Polycnemoideae. Hemichroa consists of only one species, two further species have been segregated as Surreya (see there for details; Masson & Kadereit 2013). The succulent halophyte H. pentandra R. Br. is endemic to Australia. It is sister to Surreya (Masson & Kadereit 2013).A,B
