Notes

The genus is not monophyletic as currently circumscribed because its two species C. capitata and C. squarrosa (Schinz) Schinz appear in two completely different lineages of the achyranthoid clade (Müller & Borsch 2005a,b). Correct generic assignment has to await a comprehensive analysis of the achyranthoid clade.A,B,C
