Notes
There is no clear-cut geographical separation between the two fruit forms of G. pharnaceoides. The typical spiny fruits are found throughout the range of the species whilst winged fruits are predominant in Arabia and absent from Africa. It seems worth formally recognising the plants with such fruits as a variety.
