Notes

This monotypic genus is distributed in coastal habitats of California and according to Hohmann & al. (2006) it belongs to Betoideae-Hablitzieae. Together with its sister genus Oreobliton which is distributed in North Africa, Aphanisma represents an interesting example of a western Eurasian – western North American disjunction (Kadereit & Baldwin 2012).A,B,C
