Notes

Molecular phylogenetic research suggests that incorporating the genera Alexandra and Borsczowia into a monophyletic Suaeda is warranted (Kapralov et al., 2006), although Lomonosova and Freitag (2011) have presented arguments in favor of maintaining Alexandra as a distinct genus, thus supporting a paraphyletic Suaeda. Schütze et al. (2003) conducted the most thorough molecular and morphological investigation of the genus to date. The pollen morphology of Suaeda was analyzed by Dehghani and Akhani in 2009.A,B,C,D
