Notes
Halocnemum belongs to Salicornioideae and comprises two hygrohalophytic species of shrubs. The genus is distributed in the southern Mediterranean, south, west and western-central Asia and closely related to Halostachys and Halopeplis (Kadereit & al. 2006).
