Introduction

The monotypic Triphyophyllum represents a seasonal carnivorous taxon, characterised by having three kinds of leaves (Porembski & Barthlott 2003). The genus has received attention in the last years due to the possession of special alkaloids, some of which have shown antimalarial activity (Bringmann & al. 1998, Frosch & al. 2007).A,B,C
