Notes

Arthrocnemum belongs to Salicornioideae. In its current circumscription, the genus consists of two disjunctly distributed species, the Eurasian and North African A. macrostachyum (Moric.) K. Koch and the North and Meso American A. subterminale (Parish) Standl. Both are stem-succulent hygrohalopyhtes (Kadereit & al. 2006a).
