Stipulicida, Fl. Bor.-Amer. 1: 26-27, pl. 6. 1803 sec. Bittrich (1993c)
Stipulicida is found only in the southeastern United States and Cuba. Long thought to be monotypic, a recent morphological study (Poindexter & al. 2014) proposed recognition of two species. Work is underway to confirm placement in the Polycarpaeae (K. M. Neubig & R. K. Rabeler, unpubl. data).
