Notes

Halimione consists of three species (one annual, two perennial) that are distributed in Europe, the Mediterranean and western Asia. The genus is often included in Atriplex. Molecular and morphological data, however, support the generic status of Halimione (Kadereit & al. 2010), which is sister to the species-rich Atriplex in the tribe Chenopodieae, formerly Atripliceae.
