Notes

A new genus segregated form Muehlenbeckia, based on the molecular study by Schuster & al. (2011). The genus comprises three species restricted to Australia, and is characterized by erect shrubs with thornlike branches. This habit it not found in any other Muehlenbeckia (as studied by Schuster & al. 2011). In addition, Duma does not possess extrafloral nectaries at the petiole base, which are present in most species of Muehlenbeckia, Fallopia, and Reynoutria.A,B
